Jewish Community of Turku

Welcome

The Jewish Community of Turku is a small and traditional community that has served the Jewish population of Turku and the surrounding areas for over a hundred and fifty years. Currently, the community has around 100 members. The synagogue, built in 1912, became a cultural heritage site later in 1988 and provides spaces for religious practice, study, and Jewish cultural activities.

Services at the Turku synagogue follow the Orthodox Jewish Lithuanian tradition. According to our traditions, the community is responsible for the care of its members from birth to burial. The Jewish cemetery in Turku is located on Skanssinmäki. From these pages, you will find the congregation's contact information.
